IPTV Solutions

IPTV is a way in which internet Televison services are streamed over a packet-switched network infrastructure using the Internet Protocol suite. This means that TV pictures are sent over the Internet or distributed on a LAN within a building.

IPTV in its simplest form, Live TV is streamed from a TV Gateway (also known as an Integrated Receiver Decoder), whose source is either from a digital satellite (DVB-S) or digital terrestrial (DVB-T (Freeview)) antenna. The Live TV packets are streamed out of the TV Gateway onto the LAN network for distribution through the premises by the Ethernet Switch. The Live TV packets are carried over the LAN (usually CAT6 network cabling). Individual set top boxes (STBs) connected to a TV receive the Live TV packets from the network and convert them back to a TV picture.

The IPTV system can be enhanced with Video on Demand (VOD) for playing movies, a Personal Video Recorder (PVR) for recording TV programs and Timeshifting for pausing Live TV.
