The DTX-360 DCME is the most recent member of the growing DTX family. Utilizing Digital Speech Interpolation (DSI), Low Delay - Code Excited Linear Prediction (LD-CELP) or Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation (ADPCM) algorithms, Variable Bit Rate (VBR) and Fax Demodulation/ Re-Modulation techniques, the DTX-360 enables a maximum effective use of transmission facilities in digital operating environments, together with high signal quality and system reliability.
The DTX-360 DCME handles up to 360 trunk channels carrying 64 Kbit/s signals of Speech, Voice Band Data, Fax and Inter- Exchange Signaling types. It provides a high compression ratio of up to 10:1 for speech signals and a maximum compression ratio of 6:1 for CCITT Group 3 Fax calls using standard or non-standard protocols.
The DTX-360 DCME can operate in one of several DCME modes. In the LD-CELP Mode, speech signals are transmitted at a nominal compression ratio of 10:1. This is achieved by means of LD-CELP encoding and decoding algorithm at 16 Kbit/s as defined by CCITT G.728 providing better performance than standard ADPCM at higher bit rates.
When operating in CCITT G.763/G.766 Mode, the DTX-360 fully complies with these recommendations (INTELSAT IESS 501 Rev.3), providing all the corresponding features, including Multi-Clique, Multi-Destination, Point-to-Point and Interoperation. The DTX-360 also supports CCITT G.763, INTELSAT IESS 501 Rev.2 Mode.
The DTX-360 DCME also incorporates a powerful Operator Station (OPS-360) utilizing advanced user interface technologies. It allows for concurrent operation, maintenance and commissioning of multiple terminals from a single work-station and provides users with an attractive graphic interface for safe and easy data entry.
