DCME DTX 240 | DCME for High Traffic Routes

Product image

Overview

  • Handling Speech and Voice Band Data on International and Domestic Links
  • Over 5:1 Speech Compression (major carriers recommend 4:1)
  • Toll Quality Speech
  • * Reconditioned equipment available *

The overwhelming popularity of the DTX DCME systems is based on a combination of both economic and technical advantages. The DTX-240 DCME product line provides the highest combined voice and data traffic capacity in the industry and meets all voice and Voice-Band Data transmission needs.

When installed in a digital network, the DTX-240E handles up to eight E1 (2.048Mbit/s) or up to ten Tl (1.544 Mbit/s) trunks carrying PCM encoded speech and Voice Band Data signals. After compression, these trunks are allocated into a single El or T1 bearer. Using Digital Speech Interpolation (DSI), Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation (ADPCM) and Variable Bit Rate (VBR) techniques, the DTX-240E provides more than 5:1 compression ratio for speech signals and 2:1 compression ratio for Voice Band Data signals. The system handles 64 Kbit/s clear channel data and Inter-Exchange signaling.

Toll Quality speech and a 3-year MTBF testify to the DTX-240 DCME performance and reliability. The menu-driven, user friendly Operator Station allows for remote operation and generates comprehensive reports for traffic monitoring and control.s

System reliability can be further enhanced by using a cluster configuration of up to eight operating terminals. A Changeover Matrix enables the traffic of a failed terminal in the cluster to be automatically switched over to a redundant terminal.

Meeting Tomorrow's Requirements

Always in tune with users' needs, the DTX-240E DCME can easily be field-retrofitted into the DTX-240F.
