Digital Circuit Multiplication Equipment (DCME) Solutions
DCME is used to compress voice data on E1 trunks, therefore concentrating a number of trunks and reducing the number of transmission channels on the link. This allows for reduced costs by ensuring efficient use of the available bandwidth. Alternatively, DCME allows increased capacity by allowing more E1 trunks to be concentrated on a transmission link of limited capacity. This is particularly important for routes utilising Satellite bearers. The voice compression rate and quality can be altered to suite the application. DCME allows Telcos to either reduce costs or increase revenue.
